Here we're at the keynote speech and the close of Webvisions day 2. The Keynote, by Kent Nichols & Douglas Sarine of Ask a Ninja "Cash and Creativity on the Webernet - The Past and Future of Online Video", was a great cap to this two days of conferencing.

They brought an air of humour to an informative session that you could only expect from the ninjas. Aside from good jokes and ninja monologues they also talked about some business practices and ideas that helped them to get where they are now.

Some of their inspiration: RedvsBlue.com, TikiBarTv, FrenchMaidTV, LonelyGirl15, and the animated series "Strongbad" on HomestarRunner.com. Things they took from these series:

  1. Create a world
  2. Use fan input
  3. Give away episodes for free
  4. Tell a long narrative in small chunks
  5. Great community interaction
  6. Multiple revenue streams
  7. Consistent Release Schedule

They were able to take these ideas and create a great series which has gained allot of attention.

Well that's it for today. It has been another great day of friends, fun, and learning. And it's a little sad to see it all end.
