First of all, many thanks to the friends who braved the rainstorm to come to last Saturday's meetup: Huang Qing, Howell, Lü Guoning, Jack from 17lamp and the two students from the Jiao Tong University open source club he brought along, and Chiristopher and his lovely girlfriend (finally, a pretty girl!).

Special mention goes to Jack from 17lamp: many thanks for his support of open source culture, for bringing that culture onto campus, and for actively organizing open source talks at universities across the city.

Through Jack, RCS got to know the two Jiao Tong students, and we are now planning to move one month's meetup onto a university campus, to give a detailed talk for students who are interested in open source and Drupal but don't yet know much about how it works, and so bring Drupal onto campus.

Back to our meetup: this time the talk was given by RCS's Makara, who explained "Form API of Drupal 6". In a presentation of nearly an hour, Makara explained in detail the basics of the Form API and how to work with ordinary forms and admin forms. The audience joined in actively with discussion and questions, and the atmosphere was quite interactive. The two students from Jiao Tong in particular kept taking notes and asking their own questions from time to time. That is exactly the effect we want: the most direct interaction and communication between speaker and audience. So whenever you have a question while listening, don't be shy, just ask.

Friends who couldn't come because of the rainstorm or for other reasons can watch our meetup on video. Because of format conversion and upload limits the video may be a little blurry, so please bear with us.

One of the attendees raised the issue of Drupal code displaying differently in different browsers; near the end of the talk, Xiong helped answer that question for everyone.

Since the following week is the long National Day holiday and we won't have time to organize a Geekout in September, we combined this month's meetup and geekout. After Makara's talk, everyone chatted for a while and then we started the last barbecue of the year.

The weather is getting colder and a barbecue doesn't seem quite right anymore, so we are thinking about other kinds of geekouts, such as hot pot, making dumplings, making wontons, drinking tea… Of course, we also look forward to your suggestions.
