I want to visit this cat's basement. Gadget Heaven!

Phillip Torrone, aka Gadget Geek, asked us why open source is good. It's free, sustainable, we trust it, to name a few reasons.

Open source hardware:

For generations, building things and mapping out inventing projects in magazines was all essentially open source. Popular Science in the 30's had some pretty spectacular ideas.

Take the Glidercopter for one. A how-to in building your very own helicopter-glider and take it for a flight around the neighbourhood. Jumping ahead to present day (we'll skip the "dark years" of the 70's, 80's, 90's). PT makes building a hand crank iPod charger look easy. You can even hook it up to your bike and charge away as you ride! Or how about a sandal made from a used tire.

Fun, but let's build cool stuff and change the world through open source hardware:
Infrastructure and technology for water purification, the environment, medical equipment, building homes.

Tell PT your social hardware plans.

Your business deserves to be found.

Tell us about your project. We answer in English or French, and we travel anywhere in the MRC de Papineau.
