Zip.ca Unlimited DVD Rental

A few months back while I was searching the web for news worthy items, I came across a banner for Zip.ca. At first look, I was not convinced it was going to be the sort of thing I would be interested. I mean, how much time do I really have to sign up for unlimited DVD rentals?

Later that night while rendering video, I decided to do more research on the company and their services.

No late Fees

I am not much of a TV lover, but we do have a monitor in the studio playing the history channel almost every night (late, when I am alone...) What can I say? I'm a bit of an history buff and love those old WWII TV series such as 12 O'clock High.

Obviously, I do enjoy keeping up with trends, technology, news and general world facts. So that would mean music and films have their own place in the grand scheme of things.

For that reason, the no late fee service is great, as I can watch my movie when I have the time, or take my time to watch my movie.

Free Shipping

Zip.ca rocks! After 6 weeks of using their service; it's simply great, easy to use, fast turn around and a good selection to choose from.

Zip offers 4 different membership plans, we signed up for $24.95 account. Allowing us to have up to 4 DVDs out at any given time, rent an unlimited amount of DVDs form a growing selection now standing at 26, 000 titles.

The website is easy to navigate, making it very "people" oriented (I'm trying to get away from the word "users"), a few glitch here and there, but from what I can se ethat are working them one after the other.

MyList, as they call it, is where we place all the movie we would like to see, as new titles come in, we add them to MyList.

Each time we return a DVD they send back another. The faster your turn them around, the more you can view. Providing you better ROI on your monthly fee.

No Due Dates

Zip.ca is located in Ottawa, Ontario. They use Canada post priority and air mail service to deliver the DVDs.

Each movie is sent to you in a soft sleeve inside an envelop. The envelop includes a DVD, a return self addressed, pre stamped envelop for exchange. Once you watched the movie and are done, all you have to do is place the DVD in the return envelop, throw it in the mail and wait for your next flick to arrive.

Last word

Zip used to offer a 2 weeks trial period for those of you looking to test out their services, sadly I can't find any indication that this still offered.

After 4 days without replies on their affiliates program, I don't have a discount to offer at this time.

Working on having that set up for a review revisited in a few months.
