Raincity Studios has launched a new web community driven site called What's Web 2.0. If you work in web development or design, no doubt since last year you have heard whispers of this thing called "Web 2.0", casual mentions that have since grown to a dull roar.
All the cool, smart people that were ga-ga over blogs last year are talking about Web 2.0 now. Last year O'Reilly, the largest technology book publisher, held a conference to explore what it means; leaders from Yahoo, Google, Amazon, Kodak, Microsoft, IBM, AT&T, Vonage, Salesforce and a host of community leaders opined on the subject. Clearly something important is going on. We hope to send at least one ambassador from Raincity to this year's conference in October to cover the event.
We think Web 2.0 is so important that it needed its own site where anyone could participate. We've merely set it up and left the keys in the ignition, so feel free to drive it where you like. The site is a Bryght powered site featuring group weblog discussion, aggregated mentions of Web 2.0 from all over the web and a directory of Web 2.0 resources. If that sounds cool, then join in!
If you're still wondering what this crazy Web 2.0 thing is, you might want to start with my fumbling for a definition.
